Loging into Scalix web sites

I wasn't sure where to post this, as there's no "Other" forum and this is not strictly Scalix related.

Visiting the Scalix forums used to log me out after a while, but since this year it sometimes doesn't want to log me in any more. bugzilla.scalix.com wants me to log in whenever I visit a page, or move from page to page in it.

I am using Firefox 2.0.0.1. To me this feels like a cookie issue, so I checked my settings.

Under Privacy I have "Accept cookies from all sites" checked, with no excptions in the list, and cookies are kept until they expire. "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox" is unchecked.

Doing a search in the cookies reveal that there are login cookies for bugzilla.scalix.com (one called Bugzilla_login and one called Bugzilla_logincookie). On the forum side there are phpbb2mysql_t, phpbb2mysql_data, phpbb2mysql_sid, __utmc, __utma and __utmz. They are all set to "Valid until the end of the session" or with expiry dates in the future.

Can anyone please shed some light on this for me?

Thanks a lot

Same thing happening here. I have to login every time I visit the forums, it used to keep me logged in before.

To eliminate client behaviour, I have tried with IE7 now as well, with the same results.

If I click on the "Log in" link at the top, it gives me a chance to enter my username and password, then frequently gives me a page back where I am not logged in, even though the URL does have a session ID. Usually it takes 5-10 attempts before the heading changes to "Log out [ Valerion ] ". When I click on a subforum, it frequently registers me as logged out again.

Unfortunately, it was a deliberate configuration change on my part.

On Christmas Day ( yes we monitor the forums during holidays as well ) we were hit heavily with a spam attack on these boards that took a lot of time to clean up.

In the short term, I had to make new user registrations approvable by only admins and existing users have to log in more frequently.

Please bear with us. I will be adding some mods to the forums to (hopefully) cut down on the bot registration/spam that we see. Our problem was that I didn't want to take the forums down for maintenance just as we released Scalix 11.

Thanks for your patience.

Cheers
