Where is the shared calendars feature in Scalix Web Client?

Postby greenrenault » Wed Aug 02, 2006 2:58 am

G'day Scalix

Congrats on a great product.

Quick question: Where is the shared calendars feature in the Scalix Web Client? ie. Where you can share your calendar with multiple users, create new calendars and share those with other users.

This is an essential have feature which is available in Zimbra, but could not find in Scalix.

Do you have any plans to implement such a feature?

We are using Scalix 10.0.1.6 community edition.

Cheers!

Hi,

believe this hasn't been responded to yet. Scalix 11 will feature full folder sharing, permission setting and delegate access for Scalix Web Access.

- available for all types of folders (mail, calendar, contacts)
- user being able to set permissions on his own and public folders
- permission/ACL model interoperable with outlook connector (you can share on outlook side and use with SWA)
- including delegate functionality (i.e. allowing a user to send messages on behalf)
- ability to mark items (esp. calendar) as private so that delegate cannot see them unless he has the special "see private" right

This follows the Outlook model where calendars are in no way special, but just specially typed folders.

Note that the currently available Scalix 11 Community Preview has this feature disabled in SWA as we weren't happy enough with the quality yet. I believe you'll see it in the next upcoming beta release.

Cheers,
Florian.
