Customers who are upgrading to version 9.1 of Scalix server should be aware of the following items that are not included in the published documentation
om_sasl is no longer a standalone pam module
This module was merged into /opt/scalix/lib/security/libom_pam.so. PAM authentication files located in /var/opt/scalix/sys/pam.d which reference the module om_sasl should be edited to remove that reference.
DIGEST-MD5 and CRAM-MD5 mechanisms require password changes
Scalix 9.1 server now uses cyrus-sasl version 2. Because of this, any customers that are using DIGEST-MD5 and CRAM-MD5 mechanisms to authenticate with the Scalix server should change their passwords to force a rebuild of the digest.
Please note that this does not affect customers that are using external authentication such as Kerberos or LDAP.
Web Admin Console no longer uses .html suffices
The Scalix Web Administration Console now provides internationalisation. URLs now have a .jsp suffix instead of .html. Page 33 of the Scalix Installation Guide is incorrect when it refers to Admin.html as the initial page for the console. Customers should use Admin.jsp instead.
omnewfqdn does not exist
Page 314 of the Scalix Administration Guide refers to omnewfqdn as a script to assist in updating directory entries after changing the server host name. This script was not shipped with Scalix 9.1.
