Patch available for Community Edition

Scalix recently learned of an issue in Community Edition that may inadvertently limit the number of users that can login concurrently. If you experience this, you can download a patch that addresses the problem. IMPORTANT: If you are running Scalix Community Edition Server version 9.4.0.9 or later, you would not experience this issue and you do not need this patch.

Download the appropriate patch for your Linux platform from:

Fedora Core 4:

Installing this patch will upgrade the Scalix Community Edition Server. The Scalix Server will be shut down for a short period of time during the upgrade process and it is highly recommended that you perform this operation during off-peak hours (nights or weekends).

Follow these instructions to install the patch using the Scalix Installer:

1. Download the appropriate RPM and place it in the same directory as the Scalix Installer
2. Change to the directory where the Scalix Installer and the RPM are located
3. Run the Scalix installer:

   Code: Select all

    ./scalix-installer-community
   and click Enter
4. Click Forward on the Scalix Installer Welcome screen
5. On the License Agreement screen, check the box to indicate you’ve read and accepted the license agreement and click Forward
6. Select “Upgrade all Scalix components (typical)“ (default) and click Forward
7. On the Component List screen, you will see a list of installed and new components. The Scalix Server component will display a new version (9.4.0.9) to upgrade to. Click Forward to proceed with the upgrade
8. From this point on, click Forward to the defaults on the remaining screens to complete the upgrade of your Scalix Server (the installer will do a system check and take the appropriate steps to install the new software)
9. On the Done screen click OK to exit the Scalix Installer (you may uncheck the Scalix Administration Console check box if you do not wish to start it after you exit the installer)

Or follow these instructions to install the patch using the command line:

1. Download the appropriate RPM to the desired location
2. Change to the directory where the downloaded RPM file is located
3. Shut down the Scalix Server by typing omshut on the command line and wait until all processes are stopped
4. Update your Scalix Server by typing rpm –U scalix-server-community-9.4.0.9-0.1.X.Y.rpm on the command line (X stands for platform and Y represents hardware)
5. Restart your Scalix Server by typing omrc on the command line and wait until all processes are started
