scalixActiveSync Attribute is missing in Active Directory Schema

Postby sheidler » Wed Jun 22, 2016 4:10 pm

Hi

i followed the AD Integration documentation many times and did everything as described. But what i am missing is the option "Create Scalix Mailbox/User" on right click on an user object in active directory. I can live without it, but i can't make an user to an active sync user as long as the object did not have the ldap entry scalixActiveSync which seems to be necessary. I found several articles describing the schema for example

http://www.scalix.com/wiki/index.php?title=HowTos/OpenLDAP_User_Management

Even the is there the object scalixActiveSync missing.

Am i doing something wrong or is there a misunderstanding of this concept?

Thanks a lot

Kind regards

Stefan

Hello Stefan,

Your schema has not extended properly. therefore you are not able to see "Create Scalix Mailbox/User on right click on an user object in active directory.
Steps:
In windows server:
1. Run Scalix AD Schema Extensions.msi
2. cmd: C:\>"Program Files\Scalix\Administration\ScalixForestPrep.exe" --install
3. Run Scalix AD GUI Extensions.msi
4. cmd : C:\>regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Scalix\Administration\AdminMMC.dll"
5. gpupdate
6. Launch mmc > Add/Remove Snap-in > Add - Scalix Administration and save it.
7. Open Scalix Administration.msc
8. And add Mailnode and Domain.

Thanks a lot. The right click options are now visible and i am able to administer the scale user in active directory. But Active Sync option is still not available an grayed out. We do have an license key for active sync. The attribute scalixActiveSync in the AD schema is still missing. We are using Windows 2012 R2 with Windows 2012 Active Directory capabilities.

Any clues?

Stefan

Hello Stefan,

After extend the AD schema will see only "Create a Scalix Mailbox" option in AD. Right click on that user after creation of scalix mailbox, and you will see options "Scalix General" and "Scalix Advanced"

Activesync access will assign through SAC.

Login to SAC > Select User (scalix-AD integrated user or scalix user ) > Select Mobile Tab > Mark on Enable ActiveSync.

Thank you, i tried this already. But i can't to any changes of the user settings in SAC as long as it is an AD-User. Manually added users can be enabled for Active Sync. The field is still grayed out.

Hello Stefan,

Use command line to enable activesync.
--activesync yes
Add this switch to ommodu command
