Will the end user notice anything new in 11.2?

All,

In August we paid for the Soap 27 error fix and the amount of #27 errors we got was reduced....but it is still there. We still see 27, 29 and gui 022 errors on our RHEL 4 11.1 server. We paid $1500 for support and scalix never even wanted to ssh into our machine. We were told to try to upgrade to 11.2.

We have been waiting for more people to deploy 11.2 before we jumped in, but it looks like we are about to try it.

So the question is, what will our end users (specifically SWA ones) notice when we upgrade? Less errors, faster load times, more features?

Thanks in advance,

~ Aaron

Effectively we noticed very little difference in relation to 11.1 or 11.0.4 in SWA, except that we can now change the date format in 11.2. Things may have gotten a little slower, but in turn people are using it way more heavily than before, with many more emails in their mailboxes. Another thing I noticed is less questions on the usage of filters and rules. I'm just not sure if it didn't work properly before or if users are just learning how to use that feature better.

The SOAP 27 errrors have been reduced in 11.2, but they are not fully gone - there is an additional bug here (actually based on a firefox bug) and we'll address more of these cases in 11.3.

I would be surprised if there was any negative performance impact of 11.1 or 11.2 over previious versions - if any, we have improved overall system performance by balancing out the load produced by the indexing engine. 11.1 and 11.2 should behave quite exactly the same, performancewise.

With all this being said, 11.2 fixes about 100 known issues, please see the "Fixed in" section of the Release Notes for details. These are available at http://www.scalix.com/documentation

I'm a pretty happy 11.2 user, I must say also I'm looking forward for when we finally start using the first dev versions of 11.3 internally sometime later this month.

I'll second Florian's post.

I see improvements in 11.2 over 11.0.4. We skipped 11.1 for most of our clients because 11.0.4 was pretty solid.

End users will notice significant improvements in the MAPI connecter with version 11.2 vs any of the previous 11.x series. Especially if they use ActiveSync.
