Upgrading from 11.0.4.25 to 11.1 RAM requirements

Postby nchandler » Wed Sep 26, 2007 8:41 am

Hello,

I am new to Scalix and just started working with this company that is using Scalix 11.0.4.25 on a Linux E4.0 box.
My question is, the system requirements for Scalix 11.1 states that it requires 1GB RAM.
Is that for Scalix allone or for the entire box?
My current system has 1GB but that is to run the OS and Scalix.

Thanks,
Noble

Hi Noble,

how many users are you running on the box?

There is no harm in starting with that gig, and if things are slow, or you see the server paging out, upping it later. (You just should be prepared to really put another gig in immediately if you decide you need it!)

We have about 80 users, but most of them do not hit the box daily. Things seem to be running ok, just was not sure if 1GB would be sufficiant for both the box and Scailx.

What's your concurrency? If it's that low I wouldn't really worry about upgrading with a gig. Again, if it gets slow just pop in another one. RAM is cheap these days ;p
