Unable to send mail outside of domain

I am using Scalix 11 on Redhat EL5 and can receive mail from outside our domain but cannot send mail outside of our domain. If I use sendmail it works but through scalix it does not.

any ideas?

Scalix uses sendmail to send mail out of the server.

Any errors logged in /var/log/maillog?

omstat -s && omstat -a

If I try and send mail using sendmail, it goes through but if I use webmail, it appears to go through but the recipeint never receives the email
