Software won't install after uninstall and deletion folders?

Hello,

I've been trying to install the scalix software on a ubuntu 6.06 LAMP, but things got a little crooked at the end of the manual install, (I made a lot of changes and could not access anything in the end) so I decided to do a new clean fresh install.
Therefore I uninstalled all scalix packages in synaptic, and then went in the system as root to delete the scalix folders which were left behind.

Then I installed version 11.1.0 again, but then I got the error that ''name'' already was present in the config file of ommakeom.
I tried ompatchom, but then I got the error that that Scalix instance wasn't installed.

I tried to go on with the install (who knows, maybe something will turn out good), but no succes. So I am stuck now.

Does anyone know how to get the install running -proper- again?

Thanks for all your help, I know I keep posting but I just have no idea what to do with such difficulties as I am not a programmer or whatsoever, I'm just trying to install a good exchange server on linux.

Here's the output of ommakeom:

root@mailserver:/opt/scalix/bin# ./ommakeom
ommakeom: "mailserver" is already in the global configuration file

When I type:
vi /opt/scalix/global/config
I get to see an empty page, nothing there.

Anyone an idea how to solve this? I thought that changing the hostname might work, but on second thought the hostname must be 'mailserver'.

So, I hope that anyone does know how to solve this?

Problem Solved, there was a config file in in /etc/opt/scalix, I've deleted the file and ommakeom worked correctly.
