Hi,

we just planning a new SCALIX installation.
And i´m looking for a "Hardware Requirements" list.

Is there somewhere a list were i could see which hardware is recommend for a few example installations?

I haven´t found one.

I´m now looking for information about recommend hardware for a HA Cluster enviroment.

Cluster enviroment not for load balancing, but for backup.

Just planning the installation like discriped in the wiki TB/TB-2007-02-HACLUSTER with a little change.

The Storage should be on one node and should be synced to the other (backup) node.
In a few weeks or months, the storage will be moved to a SAN.

Round about 150 User will work on this nodes.

Any suggestions?

Hardware won't be special for the cluster. You'd need each server to be about the same as the requirements if it was a single server. Assuming you use storage on the SAN.

Until then, DRDB should work, but you'll need a fast, dedicated connection between the boxes, and it'll add significantly to the overhead.

I found a few values for RAM and Diskspace, but nothing about CPU.
The only thing was, that SCALIX benefits from 2 CPU´s

Are there some recommend values ?

Our experiences shows, that there is not much CPU load. We have one System with a similar user count, and this system is far far away from having to much load

It all really depends on what exactly you'll do with the server.

* How many users will connect.
* What types of connection will be used, POP3 or IMAP?
* How much data will be stored on the HDD or will it be downloaded to their PC's?

Which brand of hardware you for exactly doesn't really matter that much. These "tips" may help:

For a small network, desktop grade mobo, DDRII RAM, SATA HDD would be fine.
For a large network, use server grade mobo, SCSCI HDD & ECC RAM
