Hi All,

Trying to port Scalix on Turbolinux 10S ( Celcia ). Which is definitely not an supported platform so please do understand that this is an experimental install.
We have taken care of as carefully all the pre-requisites to install scalix-11.0.4-GA ( scalix-server-11.0.4.10790 ) the binaries installed from rhel3/rhel4 scalix server community edition RPM's.

Given the background, the problem is :

# omaddu -n sxadmin/turbolinux --class limited -c admin -p secret sxadmin
omaddu : [OM 8114] Could not get a license to configure this user.

Tried every thing in the world to figure this one, but no clue.

However the omstat shows the License Monitor as aborted.
# omstat -a

And the sxlicense command returns:
# sxlicense -u
Could not communicate with the License Manager

I tried both the manual install as we as the CLI installer, but it all ends with the above error.

Any pointers would be highly appreciated.

Also is their anyway to generate a limited license and install the same ? looked at in the forum but couldn't find an answer.

Even though the platform is not support, yet i would appreciate support.

as the License Daemon is not running the OM 8114 is expected.

please try to start Scalix with

Code: Select all

/etc/init.d/scalix start

first or do at least a

Hi Yayati

There are other issues besides the licenseing problem you are having. Seeing that there are pretty much no services running. Fixing these first should be a "first step" to get it running. I would (if possible) reboot the box to see if these services start, and then check your /var/opt/scalix/??/logs/fatal which should give you a start.

I did try with omrc -n, a while ago however failed at the same step.
I am re-doing the whole stuff again, and shall re-post the omrc -n / omstat results.

An observation during the creating of the message store omsendin gives a small error:

However at the end shows restarting sendmail.
I am not sure is sendmails configuration failure and the above problem are interconnected. Let me know if i need to fix omsendin problem before going any further?

Shall come back with the suggested results of omrc -n

I got it resolved by fixing the permissions.

# omcheck -s > fix_install_permissions.sh
# sh fix_install_permissions.sh

# omcheck -s -d > fix_data_permissions.sh
# sh fix_data_permissions.sh

Lets look forward for turbolinux as a robust platform for Scalix.
