Hi,

I have installed the Scalix Server using the following computer name and domain name.: jupiter.domain-x.com.

I have registered the following domain and setup MX record
domain-y.com and mail.domain-y.com

If I want to use the system on domain-y.com, would I have to reinstall the system so that the system name is jupiter.domain-y.com? Is there a way to change this without reinstalling the whole system?

There is no concept of domain ownership as far as the Scalix server is concerned. As long as incoming mail is directed to the Scalix server via MX records you will be OK.

When a message is received by the Scalix server, the SMTP Relay process will do a lookup on the SYSTEM directory for a corresponding internet address. If there is a match, Scalix will accept it. If not, the message is passed to sendmail for processing. This means that you can have any internet address in the directory.
