dear team,

i have setup a SLES10 (yesterday downloaded) and its working.
when i install the required packages of scallix_insatll_guide_11 and i execute the scalix-installer, it comes the error message: scalix server and scalix tomcat are not installed.

when i try to install these packages from the Software folder in the scalix package,
suse linux prints:

Dependency Resolution Failed

Unresolved dependencies:
Installing scallix-server-11.0.4.10790-1.sles9.i586[Local packages]
There are no installable providers of libldap.so.199 for scalix-
server--1.0.4.10790-1.sles9.i586[Local packages]

what shall i do? what shall i setup for an operating system?

i want test it for my company, but its not easy to install...

Check the Scalix installer log created at /var/log, can you tell me the exact reason for the
installation failure.

sorry but my english is not the best, i hope you can undestand me.

now i download the suse enterprise linux server 10 DVD and re-install the operating system.

then i try to install the scalix version for the SLES 10!


can you recommend me, what for an operating system are the best, for scalix?
i want only a stable good and easy to install operating system!

can you tell me, what i should install for an os?

i write my logs here again, when i have re-installed os and scalix!

Hi!

Seems you tried to install the package "scallix-server-11.0.4.10790-1.sles9" that is for
SLES 9 and not SLES10, make sure you have downloaded the appropriate Scalix Installer
that corresponds to SLES 10.

The manual that you have referred to has all the information software requirements, follow
this guide itself. The installation was successful following the manual on SLES 10.

Hi!

Can you send me the result of the following:
rpm -qa | grep sendmail
rpm -qa | grep postgres
rpm -qa | grep apache2
rpm -qa | grep sasl

Check if you have the following packages:
• cyrus-sasl-md5 (32-bit libs)*
• cyrus-sasl-plain (32-bit libs)*
• sendmail (v8.12 and above)
• sendmail -cf
• apache
PostgreSQL 7.4.x, 8.0.x or 8.1.x, including the following packages:
• postgresql-server
• postgresql-libs
• postgresql

Also check the software requirements section of the guide starting from page#30 of the
installation guide at:

i have installed all what you say, and i read the manual at site 30.

last but leaser one question:
why doesent work the version 11.0.5 not @ SLES10?

when i start the scalix-installer on 11.0.5 the he writes:
not operating system...

what are better in version 11.0.5 as in the version 11.0.4?

Is it a typing mistake, 11.0.5 is not yet released.
