Fresh-Installation on FC5 hungs up

[Mysterious]

Hi, i tried to install the Scalix 11.0.4 on an XEN domU with Fedora Core 5.as Operating System. During installation the installation hangs an does not go on. Last message i can see is

Starting Scalix Server daemons... (\)

What could cause this? Are there any experiences with this problem?

Hi Mysterious!

Can you check the installation log if it had some error, find the scalix installation log at
/var/log folder?

Also, can you send the contents of the file /etc/hosts. Is the forward and reverse response
from DNS working fine?

Hi!

The instance creation normally takes some time based on the hardware, did you interrupt
the installer manually, try uninstalling the RPMs that are listed in result of the command
rpm -qa | grep scalix. Once you have deleted all RPMs delete the folders /var/opt/scalix*,
/opt/scalix* and /etc/opt/scalix* recursively and try installation again.

I hope the DNS configuration are OK i.e. the response for forward and reverse lookup work
fine. I see a MX record setup as well from the log you sent.

Did you create 'scalix' user/group before starting installation, if yes delete this user and try
installation again.

Hi!

When asked for "Domain Name" during installation, enter the complete Scalix FQDN instead
of just the domain name which is the default value, this you are asked after the query for
the primary mailnode, as shown below:

So in all I would suggest you to uninstall all components and try installation again.
