Hi,

Experimenting with Scalix Community Edition under FC4 on a VMware virtual machine. I'm a linux lightweight, but can generally get around.

I've gotten everything installed, but when I try to login via the web tool, I get this error:

"Could Not Login. The Administration Server Is Unavailable"

Couldn't find anything in the KB or forums. Any ideas?

TIA!

Jason

Are you able to sign into SWA ?

Please check the tomcat logs at $TOMCAT_HOME/logs and post the details. This should give more information as to the cause of the problem.

Cheers

Dave

I was running same environment with VMWare and FC4 using JDK 1.4.2_09 and Tomcat 5.5.12. Installed fine but couldn't login to sac or webmail. Another poster recommended uninstall Scalix and Tomcat and reinstall with bundled tomcat 5.0.?. Working fine now. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tips...still having trouble

OK, so here's where I am:

Tomcat was installed as part of the Scalix install.

I'm not sure which logfile would be best to post. None seem to say much about the error. There are 3 files in the logs directory.

I cannot log into the webmail tool either. When I login with the sxadmin user, I get a java popup which reads:

"Malformed index pair at index 25: service://scalix:sxadmin@%LOCALHOST%

Additional Questions:
- Is there a recommended way to start tomcat automatically with the OS? I'm running startup.sh after bootup.

some progress

I followed the tips in this article about %LOCALDOMAIN% and have gotten past the 'Index 25' error, but now getting a message that the server is not available:

http://www.scalix.com/community/viewtop ... =malformed

getting there
