I am in process of moving from SuSe 10 Scalix 10 to FC5 Scalix 11. This process includes a new hardware platform. I do not want to down the old server until the new server is in place.

I have followed the instructions in regards to backing up (TAR) the scalix folders and extracting to the new server. After correctly the issues with UIDs and GIDs I am at yet another wall.

The installing fails to install the web components failing due to mailnode name. Obviously to prevent hostname conflicts, the server has a new name. For example purposes; old server is mail1 new server mail2.

Server's existing mailnode is mail1.domain.com

I checked the mailmode and sure enough it states mail1. I thought I changed the mailmode using the command (sxmodfqdn) or at least I believe that is what that command does.

Please advise,

Thanks,
