Tomcat Java Setup Problem

Postby Knight » Tue Oct 18, 2005 10:38 am

I am unable to get past the Tomcat/Java page during the setup process. The installer finds the tomcat installation with no problem, but I am unable to find a directory that will work int /usr/share/Java***. I'd appreciate it if anyone has some insight to this...

thanks

Can you give us some more details ?

What version of Java do you have installed ?
What platform are you installing on ?

Cheers

Java Tomcat problem

Postby Knight » Tue Oct 18, 2005 3:53 pm

I am installing on Fedora C4 and i have installed JRE5.0 by running yum install jre. I am pointing the install to "usr/share/java because that is where i also manually downloaded the JRE install and i get nothing. Let me know if there are any other details that i am leaving out. I have also done a "magic" reboot and delete and reinstall of the scalix software, with no avail...

Scalix needs to have JDK 1.4.2_x installed rather than any JRE. We don't currently work with JRE 1.5 but this will change in the next major release.

Cheers

Dave
