Port 25 issues

Hello,
I have a Scalix Community 10 build on Fedora Core 4. Although sending and recieving emails functions correctly when sent / recieved from internal accounts, recieving email from external accounts is not working.
Running an nmap on our IP address / email domain tells me that port 25 is closed externally. This leads me to think that my modem / router is blocking it. I have disabled the firewall and set port forwarding for port 25 to the internal address of our Scalix server.
Despite this, nmap still shows it as closed. I have contacted my ISP (Demon UK) and confirmed that they are not blocking port 25. I have swapped out my modem (for the same model) incase it is faulty.
Is there anything I am missing and are there any ADSL modems that people can recommend for this setup?
Thanks for your time!
