Could someone help me with a standard DNS configuration and hosts. I am running RedHat Enterprise 3, ScalxV11.
When running installation, it fails on network (FQDN)

host= mtech-mail
iIp address static = 172.31.159.8

Thanks for any help ?

Darwin,
the default entry work fine if you have installing single server setup . Just want to cross check that please make sure you have reverse DNS lookup work fine for that hostname. The scalix use the name of the OS hostname as the name of the scalix server. So please make sure that you can properly resovle the ip address assign for the machine.
Please check and let me know the installer log's error, it might be useful to workaround with the error logs of installer.

Hope this help

Please post the contents of /etc/hosts and the output from nslookup mtech-mail followed by nslookup x.x.x.x where x.x.x.x is the IP address returned by the first nslookup command.

Cheers

Dave

You don't have the server mtech-mail listed on your DNS server (172.31.159.3) Nor do you have the rDNS entry there either (meaning the nslookup of the IP failed too).

Kev.

Thanks
