I am having a problem installing scalix on our brand new HP DL380 server. The server is a Dual Xeon 3.8 ghz w/ 4gb ram and 4 300gb SCSI drives configured in a raid 5. The OS installed is SLES 9.1 w/ latest patches.

After running the command ./scalix-installer the following is displayed and hangs.

Code: Select all

Scalix Installer - extracting archive, please wait....
Scalix Installer - starting version 10.0.1.24.....
Scalix Installer - using Python 2.3.3.

I've checked various log files but am unable to locate any information of what the problem may be. The problem occurs with both version 10 & 11 beta. Also all the latest patches are applied to the OS.

Please use the --cli switch to start the installer in command line mode.

Don,

Sorry I didn't mention it in my post, but I had already tried the cli install. However, I was able to I fix the problem by re-installing python & python-gtk with the latest updates.
