Help!

Postby ajury » Wed Aug 10, 2005 4:14 am

Hi,

I am new to Scalix and have just downloaded and installed Scalix Community Edition from the site. However, my copy of the software does not appear to have included the installation script mentioned in the install guide. I have managed to figure out a bit from playing about and have a running installation using these commands on my fc4 host:

rpm -ihv scalix-websplats-configurator-py24-9.4.0.52-1
rpm -ihv scalix-server-community-9.4.0.8-0.1.fc4
rpm -ihv scalix-swa-9.4.0.52-1
rpm -ihv scalix-sac-9.4.0.52-1

/opt/scalix/bin/ommakeom mailhost
/etc/init.d/scalix start
/opt/scalix/bin/omaddmn -m "mailhost"'
/opt/scalix/bin/configurator --install --swa
/opt/scalix/bin/configurator --install --sac
/opt/scalix/bin/oaddu -n "andy/mailhost" -p password

However, up until now this has all been guess work. I know I am missing a lot of initial configuration information which I couldn't possible manage to reverse engineer from the OM scripts. Does anyone have a copy of the install script, some 'headless' installation notes or any thing that might at least help me run the SAC. Yes, this does load, but who do I login as?!

Many thanks in advance,
Andy

Hi Andy,

You should have downloaded a 112M file called "scalix-9.4.0-community-intel-rh.tar.gz" and extracted it using "tar zxvf scalix-9.4.0-community-intel-rh.tar.gz". Its contents should include "scalix-installer-community" at the top level which you can just run (assuming you have X properly set up) using "sh scalix-installer-community".

What do you see as the contents of your tarball?

Thanks,

Nick.

Nick,

Must have had a corrupted tarball. Downloaded again and this time extracted the archive on the Linux box. All seems to be in order now.

Regards,
Andy
