outgoing mail problem

hello,
this is the first time i am installing scalix.
i have a question concerning outgoing mails but first my configuration:

i have an isp where my mailboxes are
user1: user1@my-domain.com for example
i have configurated scalix and fetchmail so, that fetchmail fetches the mails from my isp an delivers it to the local users -> user1@local.domain
that works all fine - i can e.g. collect my mails via outlook an pop3.

now heres the problem: what do i have to do, that i can send mails with outlook? that doesn't work. i imagine three possibilities:
1. something like fetchmail only backwards
2. sending e-mails directly too the isp via outlook
3. option in scalix (would be the best)

can anyone help me?

thanks so far
oliver

ok, i have read a lot of threads in this forum and i have the answer but...
the solution for my problem is smtpauth!
but i doesn't understand it completely! can aynone helps me please? is there a manual how to setup up smtpauth correct?
if user1 sends with his scalix adress a mail how does the auth-file knows, wich account it should take??

hope anyone understands what i mean.. :/
thanks
