Error 503 Service temporarily unavailable

Postby jamesj » Mon Aug 28, 2006 2:10 pm

Loaded Scalix 10 on RHEL ES v. 4 but used incorrect mailnode entry. Uninstalled Scalix componets then reinstalled using default mailnode. Can get the apache default page but cannot connect to the Webmail or SAC pages. When trying to open either I get the following message "Service Temporarily Unavailable". Error 503 is displayed on the browser tab. I have almost no experence with Linux and would appreciate it if you could start me in some direction. If you will tell me where to look I can retreive any logs needed. Thanks.

Hi,

check if tomcat is running with /etc/init.d/scalix-tomcat status or ps -ef grep java. If nothing is running start it up with /etc/init.d/scalix-tomcat start.

Maybe you have to add scalix-tomcat with chkconfig to the appropriate runlevels though..

And most important: CHECK if selinux is enabled... Please refer to release notes at all... It has to be disabled...

Cheers

Stefan
