Hello,

I use confixx on my server and wanna use scalix as second to for webmailing and more.
Does it works, the combination confixx and scalix on one server?

(details: confixx should install the main mailboxes, scalix should only login via imap to these mailboxes local or extern)

thank you

Joerg

SWA requires a Scalix backend in order to run, so you can't just point it at the confixx imap server and have it run.

Thanks,

of course, I wanna install the full scalix server application on the same server.

But I don't know: Can I use Scalix as a standalone-server at the same time on a confixx server? (scalix should not use unix-systemuser, use its own mailboxes and load the content from confixx mailboxes via imap).

Thanx!

No, this will not work. Confixx is very different from Scalix and there is no integration.

If you are running a root server hosted by 1&1 or another provider, ditch confixx and use Scalix. You will be much better off.

hello and thank you for your posting,

confixx is not only mail-management. It work as a DNS-Server, Domain-Manager etc.

I don't need integration. I wanna use both systems (confixx and scalix) on one server. Can I use scalix as a standalone-service with no conflicts to other services?

best regards

Jörg

Hi,

I am aware of Confixx and have used it myself ;-) The short answer is, yes, you can run both Confixx and Scalix on the same server. Obviously you will not get the benefit of Confixx for user management in Scalix, but since it is only the user management, not much of a trade-off, I guess.
