This is my first attempt installing Scalix - and I have downloaded the demo. When I start the installation, and choose to Install all Scalix components (typical) I get the following mesage:

The system does not have enough memory to proceed. The minimum is 512MB.

Installing on SUSE 9.1 Pro. All updates performed. 512M of Swap Space.

I have 512MB of physical mem in the system. Bios reports the 512M, and Info Centre Shows a total Memory of 625.22 MB Free (physical and swap).

I'm pretty new to Linux, so I was wondering if I am reading your requirements correctly - are they for 512M physical before loading OS - or 512M Physical Available after loading OS?

The default memory requirement enforced by the Scalix Installer is 512MB of *free* RAM. This ensures the OS and Scalix, as well Tomcat and Apache can run for functionality reviews.

For evaluations this minimum can be overriden by adding an argument on the command line. Try this command:

./scalix-installer-eval --warnonly

(that is 2 dashes preceeding "warnonly")

The memory dialog will still appear, but as a warning. Click <ok> on the dialog and the iinstaller will proceed.
