Kernel parameters

After the instalation on an BL35p withe and amd dual cora and 4 GB RAM and 300GB scsi disk. I Like to tune my redhat 4.3_64bit. Are there services that I can stop, kernel parameters?, scalix parameters. to optimise performance?
