Error with Wizard

I followed the suggestion in the install guide that said to only install the packages on the list. Now when I run the wizard I get:

"Application initialization failed: no display name and no $DISPLAY environment variable"

This sounds like an 'X' error. Do I need 'X'? All I have are the libs, installed as dependancies for the packages I selected.

I'm searching for the answer, but if anyone could save me some time, that would be great.

By the way, I just tried to do a simple 'export DISPLAY=(hostname):0.0' and it didn't fix it.

The error is now "couldn't connect to display (hostname):0.0".

Aha - I just found what I missed. Answer is 'yes, you do need X for the wizard'. It's on page 2 (or 12 of the PDF).

Bob,

Any chance you could let me know where you were going wrong? I'm running into the same issue on SLES9.

Many thanks,
