Scalix 9.2 Evaluation Dependency Check

I am testing the 9.2 evaluation, and am getting an error when installing it.

The dependency check fails with an error "The following components were missing from the install/upgrade selection. Scalix Sever (evaluation) please click back and select the missing components." This is pointing to /media/cdrom/scalix-9.2.0-eval/software/scalix_server. All of the RPM's appear to be there. The other checks: network, java, tomcat, and running services pass the test.

I'm also running this on a freshly installed copy of Fedora Core 3.

Can you confirm that you haven't installed Scalix on this server before and also, there are some additional warnings above the INFO line in the log. Can you post those ?

I've the same problem. But when i choose "Install one or more Scalix components (custom)" and deselect "Scalix Remote Execution Service" the System check report no error... (seperate from the hang on at the next step - see also my topic "9.2 System Check error") Here the bothcomplete logs. First with "Install all components", second with install without Remote Execution Service...

To reply to Fulkrod, the problem is that you are running FC3 Test 3 which has a version number of 2.92.

The install log shows:

In Version 9.1 SLES 9 for x86_64 was supported !! I can't believe this! Is scalix downgrading? Before i bought my AMD64 i extra phoned with the 'Pascal' from German Scalix bracnch office and he told me, AMD64 will be supported...

Scalix has not made any official announcement that the x86_64 platforms are supported.

There has been no specific testing of the x86 RPMs on this type of hardware and so we cannot guarantee the results. This is why the scalix-installer binary will not pick the i586 RPM.

If you wish to proceed with the installation, you will need to install the SLES9 scalix-server RPM by hand and follow the manual installation instructions that in the file admin_resource_kit/manual_installation.html on the installation media.

The problem is caused by the software. It is identified as x86_64 which is why the installer doesn't show you any server RPMS.

As I said previously, the manual installation should work.
