Hi all, I'm a relative newbie to the linux fraternity and brand new to Scalix, I have tried installing Scalix Community Edition on SUSE 9.3 and get the following error when running the installer, Please could anyone assist with some help.
Scalix Installer - extracting archive, please wait...
Scalix Installer - starting version 10.0.0.351...
Scalix Installer - using Python 2.4.
Error: unsupported OS release: SuSE Linux 9.3 (i586) on i386
Scalix Installer - cleaning up...
Scalix Installer - stopped.
linux:/Scalix/scalix-core-intel-suse-10.0.0 #
Thanks in advance

Hi Marc,
Scalix 10.0 is only supported on one 'free' SuSE release (and one 'free' Fedora release) and that is version 10.0 OSS. Notice the package you unpacked is named scalix-core-intel-suse-10.0.0.
Please see the sticky post at the top of this forum for more information.
Cheers,
Nick.

Hi Nick
Thanks for the reply, most appreciated ... I guess that explains it..However when i downloaded Scalix i was asked to specify which platform i was going to install on and i chose the "SUSE Linux Standard or Enterprise Server9" option and was given the "scalix-core-intel-suse-10.0.0.tar.gz" download,
Where can i get a scalix version to load on SUSE 9.3?

The last version to support SuSE 9.3 was Scalix 9.4.2, released in October 2005. Believe we could find a copy for you somewhere.
However, Scalix 10 introduces a large number of new features as well as bugfixes; if you can, I would recommend by all means that you upgrade your OS to SuSE OSS 10 so that you can benefit from this.

I have Suse pro 9.3 and cann't update to Suse 10 so I need Scalix 9.4.2 (or earlier). Where can I find an installation file of it? (All the links at tha scalix website go to "scalix....-10...gz".)
Thanks for any answer

Mathias,
Suse 9.3 is no longer supported by Scalix, only 10 is. Alternatively, use SLES which is based on 9.x if you must and still supported in Scalix 10.

Sascha.
