Iam trying to install the community version on Fedora Core 4. After running the install script I get the following error:

Scalix Installer - extracting archive, please wait...
Scalix Installer - starting version 10.0.0.351...
Scalix Installer - using Python 2.2.3.
Error: unsupported OS release: Fedora Core release 1 (Yarrow) on i386
Scalix Installer - cleaning up...
Scalix Installer - stopped.
[root@webserver scalix-core-intel-redhat-10.0.0]#

I am very sure of the OS version so I am not sure what I am doing wrong

Thanks
Niteman

What's the content of your /etc/redhat-release ?
What does this command give you:

Code: Select all

yum list|grep coreutils

Here is what I got form the command:

[root@webserver scalix-core-intel-redhat-10.0.0]# yum list|grep coreutils
getting /var/cache/yum/updates-released/headers/coreutils-0-5.0-34.1.i386.hdr
coreutils-0-5.0-34.1.i386 100% |=========================| 13 kB 00:00
coreutils i386 5.0-34.1 updates-released

Well, you ARE running Fedora Core 1, so the error message is correct. Check you /etc/redhat-release to see for yourself. You need to upgrade to FC4 before installing Scalix. Read this:
http://www.scalix.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=513
In your case I would consider Installing CentOS instead of FC4, use the search function to find out more about this.
