admin console version number error message

Postby slonghurst » Sat Nov 14, 2009 8:59 am

Just upgraded to 11.4.5, everything seemed to go ok, a few issues with tomcat but managed to fix them. When i log into the sac site, i get an error saying the following

Some of your Scalix servers (listed below) are not upgraded to the latest version. The Scalix Admin Console will continue to function properly for managing such servers, however, some of the new Scalix Admin Console capabilities will not be available. Upgrade your older servers to the latest version to activate the full range of Scalix Admin Console features for all your Scalix servers.
mail.domain (11.4.2.12068)

, but when i log in i see

ADMINISTRATION CONSOLE (version 11.4.5.4953 )

at the top of the screen. Can the initial message be safely ignored? and why would i get this error?

In case you are not working in an environment with multiple Management Agents (read more than one Scalix Server) this can be caused by a partially failed upgrade of the Webapps.
The scalix-installer log in /var/log may provide more informations.
If the scalix-res package shows a 11.4.5 version number you will be able to solve the problem with the following procedure:
- shut down scalix-tomcat
- delete the /var/opt/scalix/??/tomcat/webapps/res directory
- start scalix-tomcat

cheers,
Dirk
