Deleting ScalixAdmins

Postby Anthony65 » Thu Jun 25, 2009 3:40 pm

Hi all

Urgently need help.
I have Installated Scalix CE got it working fine ready to migrate from exchange only to find that I had the same mailnode name on both boxes. anyway I manage to do all the necessary changes following:
http://www.scalix.com/wiki/index.php?ti ... ChangeFQDN

However I have one problem
the Standard Scalix Admin Groups all point to the old Mailnode

so I recreated them using eg:- omaddpdl -l ScalixAdmins/mycompany

but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to remove the old Scalix Admin Groups or to reassigned their Mailmode

I appriecate any help

Many Thanks
Anthony

The Admin Groups must only exist on one machine. But it doesn't matter for CE, as server-to-server routing doesn't work. In the CE (and SBE) case you will need to have the Admin Groups on both servers.

If you are going to install EE, and did not yet migrate, I would actually recommend you re-install one of the machines with a new mailnode. You can at install-time select to not have the Admin Groups created.

Hi Valerion

Thanks for your quick reply

Manage to figure it out ie

used omdelpdl -l ScalixAdmin/$mnode

my main aim was to be able to delete the old mailnode but could not because of the assignment of pdl

All seems to be working fine now.
I recreated the Standard Scalix Admin Groups to point to the correct mailnode

and was able to also delete the old mailnode.

Will now see if I can migrate ms exchange to scalix on the linux box
I will use imapsync to do this

Many thanks
once again

Anthony
