Connection Refused when connecting to sac

Postby ericlomm » Tue Feb 14, 2006 6:28 pm

Hello,

I Installed the scalix community edition on an internal box yesterday afternoon. At that time I was able to connect as admin and login. Today when got back to working with scalix I am now when I connect using my firefox browser I am getting a message saying that the "connection was refused". If I try to use Internet explorer I am simply seeing a page saying internet explorer cannot find the server.

I have tried rebooting the and the results are the same. I have checked that tomcat and jave are both running, I am still not able to connect.

Can someone please help me to figure out how to get connected to scalix once again.

Thanks

Hi Eric,

Are you certain tomcat is running? Can you post the output from:

Code: Select all

ps -aef|grep tomcat

If you just put in http://server.domain.com:8080 (or whatever your URL is) do you get the tomcat page? If not, tomcat isn't running.

Thanks,
Rachel

Hello,

After I had posted my original message I did some more reading of some of the older posts on issues similar to this and I figured out making sure Tomcat was running. I tried rebooting the computer but Tomcat was still not starting finally I was able to figure out how to start Tomcat and I was able to connect fine.

I just thought that Tomcat would be setup to start automatically when I started my computer but apparently it was not.
