Scalix installation problem

Hello, im from Germany and my english isn't the best, but I have a big problem with the scalix installation 11.4.3 on my open suse 11.0. The setup installs the programm succefull, but when I have to fill in the usename and the passwort an I say OK an error message arrives.

Failed to configure Server -- check the log for errors. CLick "OK" to quit Scalix Installer

I think Scalix is a nice tool, but it's not the first problem by the installation.

Oh, I had found something very interesting in "/var/log/"

Check to see if a local scalix account was created (/etc/passwd), from the logs I'm guessing not.
Confirm you can add such a user manually.

I think there is a local account of scalix, or isn't the account "sxadmin" the same as the account "scalix"?

No, sxadmin is a Scalix account (in the scalix user db).
scalix is an OS level account. I'm not sure why there would even be a sxadmin account in /etc/passwd.
Where you able to create the scalix account manually?

That was the solution. I create the scalix account manually and the setup goes on.

But now I have another problem. The setup says he is finished but I couldn't find anything on the adress "http://localhost/sac" or "http://localhost/webmail". Apache2 is running, but should I configure something by apache2?

Don't use localhost. Use the FQHN.

Check /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp/instance-xxx.conf
xxx normally is the hostname (not fqdn).

Though it sounds like something else is going on.

I meant that I didn't think the problem was related to that file, but it was a simple thing to check. I would restart scalix-tomcat and look at the logs in ~/tomcat/logs

I would uninstall and reinstall all the web components. This is the second problem you've had with the installer not working properly... something must be different on this box.
