Using Scalix with the right domain name....

Hello,
I’m currently busy installing Scalix, but I’m get the total configuration right.

I have a hosted virtual private server with Centos5. The default hostname/domain = account.vpshosting.com. I have also a domain linked to it (domainname.net). I would like to run Scalix so I can use it as a mail server mail.domainname.net with mailaccount user1@domainname.net.

I did a default installation which results in a mailserver which only works when I use an account like user@account.vpshosting.com, instead of user1@domainname.net.

How do I change this?
Add an extra domeinname to Scalix, or change the hostname/domainname of my VPS and do re-install?

Can you maybe help/advise?

Marty

Hi. You have two options.

1. De-install Scalix and re-install it. This time, when you are asked for the default address format, choose a domain name of domainname.net. You can keep the rest of the format the same (for example, First.Last or First_Last)

2. Log in to the SAC and click Settings icon, then your server name, and change the default domain.

It works. The provider hadn't made the proper DNS change yet.
The domain wasn't allocated to the server.
