Upgrading Scalix 11.3 to 11.4 (in different linux distro)

Hello, I've been using Scalix for a while, very pleased with its behavior, now I want to upgrade to the new version, but in a different more stable system.

Upgrade Scenario:

Current Server: OpenSUSE 10.2 - Scalix 11.3.0.77
Desired Server: CentOS 5 - Scalix 11.4.1

The server is not heavily configured, it counts with only 30 standard users, 3 groups, using IMAP, so as you can see is a very simple system. The only thing is that I want to install new server and migrate/move all configuration, mailboxes and messages exactly as they are. Very important to leave everything the way it is now.

I need the process to get this done as soon as possible. I was thinking about doing backup and restoring in the new version, which I don't know if could work, considering they are different versions.

Please help me.

Thanks in advance. :)

Hello,

I've recently done a comparable migration: moving from openSUSE to SLES10SP2 and upgrading from Scalix 11.3 to 11.4. In the following thread:
viewtopic.php?t=10811 you can find my experiences, the procedure that I used to successfully do the migration, and a lot of helpful information from other community members.
I don't expect much difference between installing on CentOS 5 (5.2 is current, IIRC) and SLES10, but I nevertheless highly recommend starting with a trial installation on another machine.

Surely i'll install try it in another PC before upgrading the official server, I don't wanna mess up the mailboxes...

Thanks, a lot of helpful information.
