"Page not found" when accessing "webmail"

Postby marktkauf » Wed Jul 09, 2008 10:42 am

Dear all,

I just managed to install Scalix 11.4 on CentOS 5, which took me much more time than I excpected. What a pitty, that there is no VMware image for evalutation.

Nevertheless I hoped for a great outcome but am now stuck with "page not found" when accessing "webmail" or "sac".

Apache is running, tomcat also, as I checked the services and can load the apache home page.

The log files contain no errors.

Any ideas where to look for a solution?

Best

Markus

Hey, I am having the same problem with 11.4.1. I had previously tried 11.3 and got it working in VMWare, but went with a straight hardware install this time. Hope someone replies. I can get to the webmail when I try on the local machine, but not from another either on the local network or remotely over a WAN.

Markus,

Are you getting "Service not available" or "Page not found"? If you're getting "page not found" then it should be logged in /etc/httpd/logs/error_log.

If you're getting "Service not available" then you need to wait a few minutes before you can access /webmail or /sac

What happens when you try to connect to
http://your.servername:8080

Trying to connect to http://<URL>:8080 gives me a 'failed to connect' error.

Also, I'm getting 'page not found' error (404). I will check the error log and post back here.

Here's one of the errors...

[Mon Jul 28 00:58:02 2008] [error] [client 192.168.1.1] File does not exist: /var/www/html/webmail

Well, I got it working. Tell me if I need to reverse this but in another thread I found this advice...

"Since the file names of the include file have changed you have to alter the following line in the file /etc/httpd/conf.d/scalix-tomcat-connector.conf:
Include /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp/instance-*.conf
to
Include /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp/app-*.conf"

Now it works. Explain to me why the installer would not have this new naming convention already changed?

Don't do this. The instance-*.conf will include the app-*.conf's so if you change it to directly include the app-*.conf from scalix-tomcat-connector.conf, the instance-*.conf will not be loaded.

Code: Select all

cat /etc/httpd/conf.d/scalix-tomcat-connector.conf | grep Include
Include /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp/instance-*.conf

Code: Select all

cat /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp/instance-*.conf | grep Include
Include /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp/app-scalix.*.conf
Include /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp/app-scalix.*.conf

(One for 80 and one for 443)

Hello everyone!

I got the same problem as just desribed in the upper posts.

I am running the latest Scalix on a Fedora Core 9. Installation succeeded, but got no web interface.

When I do:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp/instance-*.conf | grep Include

It says

Code: Select all

Include /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp/app-mail.*.conf
Include /etc/opt/scalix-tomcat/connector/ajp/app-mail.*.conf

Instead of what you posted.

I don't know how to find out where I made a mistake. Maybe someone here has got a solution for this.

Yours Sincerely

Martin Chauchet

Depends what exactly you mean by "no web interface"... I installed 11.4.2 on an FC9 system last week and it just worked.

When I access http://<fqdn>/sac the webbrowser says: "Page Not Found"

Any idea where to download that version?

I think on the Scalix homepage you can only download 11.4.2

Anyone have links to the other 11.4.1 packages?
In particular the SuSE packages?

TIA.
