SmartCache is disabled on all accounts after the upgrade to 11.4.

The log says:

It worked just before the upgrade, so what has been changed and how can I fix it.

Regards,
Joost.

ps. there is enough diskspace on the server and client, the mailbox is still there on the server and client & I didn't prohibited anything.

the diskspace check didn't work properly in 11.3 and it should have been fixed in 11.4, so at least there has been some change in the area.

Can you try to create a new SmartCache profile and see if that works?

Thx,
Florian.

Hi Florian,

Thanks for the quick reply. When I create a new profile with SmartCache it does not work either. Profile creation exits normally without error. When I start Outlook with that profile the SmartCache is not used at all, not even an icon in the tasktray :-(.

Regards,
Joost.

Hi Joost,

does you system have multiple drives? Roaming profiles? Is the correct default location shown for SmartCache during profile creation? What happens if you select an alternative location?

Florian.

Florian,

YES, the system has multiple drives.
YES, it has roaming profiles.
YES, the correct default location is shown for SmartCache during profile creation =>
C:\Documents and Settings\Joost\Local Settings\Application Data\Scalix\Scalix\MAPI\Profiles\test\

What happens if you select an alternative location? => it works ;-) on D:\test\.

It seems that the (default) SmartCache locations aren't accesible anymore? If so, how do I move the existing SmartCaches to another location (so outlook can still find them)?

Regards,
Joost.

Joost,

we don't understand yet what's wrong here; on my system the default location works just fine. We'll look into it - I have opened https://bugzilla.scalix.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17397 for tracking purposes, please add all further information/findings to this bug.

Cheers,
Florian.

Details please

Hi Joost

Can you please provide a trace file for the process of creating a new profile.
You can use either Tools > Scalix Properties > Support or the standalone SXLOGCONF.EXE to set full logging ("API entry and exit points + commentary + Internal + UAL") for the SmartCache Store Manager and then reproduce the problem and mail the resulting CSV trace file to me, or attach it to Bug 17397.

What options are you specifying during profile creation? (SSL? Minimize Sync Activity? Or is the problem seen with a variety of configurations?)
Is the problem seen on multiple PCs?
(Again if you have any useful detail please attach it to the bug.)

Thanks
David

Okee, I attached the 2 files to Bug 17397:

1. Screen shots of profile creation (including options and path)
2. Trace file of creation and opening of the profile.

Joost.
