We recommend the following platforms for commercial use of the product
Red Hat Enterprise 4 and 5, CentOS 4 and 5, Novell SLES 9 and 10.
We do support the following platforms for community and evaluation use, however not recommend them due to their frequent update cycles. Scalix License Keys do work on these platforms.
Fedora 7, openSuSE 10.2
We do provide packages for debian, however we provide no support for this whatsoever. Scalix License Keys do not work on debian, which is what you are seeing. This has always been the case, so there is no change to a previous version. I assume you've been using a community edition license before. We are considering to support debian in a future release, at which points we'll enable the license keys to work, but no final decision has been taken and I cannot provide you with a timeframe.
We have two OEM platforms that are based on debian and that can be used as Scalix platforms. They do require special OEM license keys, but we are swapping normal Scalix license keys for OEM license keys for customers with active subscription. The OEM versions of Scalix are available from the platform vendors. These are Univention with the Univention Corporate Server (
www.univention.de) and Xandros - our mother company - with the Xandros Server 2.0 (
www.xandros.com). Please contact the vendor if you're interested.
We're continuously re-evaluating our platform support decisions; these are mainly taken based on market demand.
Cheers,
Florian.
