Can't sent to non-local addresses

omstat -q ERROR

and

omstat -q UNIX

both commands return statement saying queue is empty. Used omqdump to confirm there is a message in unix queue.

Fantastic, service ldapmapper restart seems to have done the trick for me.

I guess I should have done the 2 omstats before the restart but for completeness they also both show no messages in the queues.

It is definately working. I have just received about 15 message cannot be delivered for more than 4 hours messages - well, I knew that but it is good that we are "talking" to each other again!

No idea why mine should work and smokes2345 not - possibly because I was starting from a basically correctly installed version of Scalix where something just got trashed?

Yep often on this forum an issue is raised such as can't send mail out etc and other jump in and think they have the same issue.

As there are many more people that sucessfully install Scalix and have no issues than the small number of people that we see on this forum, itr is safe to assume that the Scalix software largley works well.

Some people have issues which relate to their particular enviornment. This is NOT a personal attack on those people, but thats the nature of software. e.g. there are many anti spam and antivirus programs that people use which can't all be checked by Scalix so issues may arise with particular combinations of server software and also with PC software interacting with the Scalix connector.

Back to my origional point. It is wrong to assum that because you have a particular issue that may look the same as someone elses issue that the two are neccessarily related. I would be very confident thar in the two cases that if were were to put the two servers side by side, and also all the PCs that attach to those servers side by side that we would see a VAST number of differences inn the two IT systems and implementations. Problems a rarely the same.

Cleared out the queue and sent another message just to see where we are. Things haven't changed. The new message i sent was sent to both a local and non-local address. It reached the local address but not the internet account. Also, I noticed that in the administration interface there is a "Sendmail Error" and "Sendmail Input" queue. I had never noticed them before, but if the names are intuitive of their function then sendmail is not the problem as the messages are never getting there. This is somewhat counterintuitive of what has been discovered so far so i'm not sure what to make of it.

Has doing "service ldapmapper restart" changed the error messages in your sendmail log? Mine seem to have stopped (not surprisingly) when I restarter the service.

I just noticed something really strange. Based on the tutorial at http://www.sonoracomm.com/index.php?opt ... &Itemid=32
I changed the redhat-release file to make the scalix installer think i had a legit redhat ES, then ran the installer to re-install/reconfigure. I restarted the server and when it came back up the LDAP service failed to start at boot, but when i run "service ldapmapper status" it says it is running. Don't know if it helps but its something.

Nope, fresh OS install, system has had the same name and IP since OS install.

PS: Reverse DNS record is correct as well.
