Wrong file.

I should have said:

/var/opt/scalix/instance/platform/platform.properties contains the postgres password.

Thanks to those of you who pointed this out that I was thinking of sxqueryadmin when I was typing... THIS is what is in psdata.

I keep mixing them up... Sorry.

This is also correct, the password in that file is accurate as well.

Is there another way to migrate users from one scalix install to another? I would like to change the hostname as well.

I guess I'll just have to use something like fetchmail or imapsync to get each folder over.

you shouldn't. see tons of posts on how to just copy the message store (/var/opt/scalix/<instance>/s) over.

If you use IMAP-based copying, you will lose all your MAPI attributes and it wont work to well on calendar objects, etc. You can use sxmboxexp/sxmboximp, but at least you lose the single-copy properties of your mailbox, i.e. mail that was sent to multiple recipients will be stored n times, wasting diskspace.

instructions on how to change the hostname can be found in the Scalix wiki.

Yes, I found some of those, but everything I looked at said to use from "/var/opt/scalix" taking it further to the "/var/opt/scalix/<instance>/s" made the difference.
This allowed me to install and it started the services. Now I'm trying to change the FQDN.

I've also looked the wiki article talking about changing the domain name, but with all the warnings, I was looking for a different way to go about it.

That being said, I tried runing sxmodfqdn and the following happened.
I'm changing the hostnames to something general:

/opt/scalix/bin/sxmodfqdn -o old.domain.name -n new.domain.name
Status -- search directory for HOST-FQDN=old.domain.name and modify ...
Status -- modify user with authid sxqueryadmin@old.domain.name ...
Failed -- Error in modifying user sxqueryadmin@old.domain.name
Status -- /opt/scalix/bin/sxmodfqdn has completed with one or more error.

I've run some searches on what to do in this circumstance, but just can't find anything that helps.

oh, I've got something else going on here.

Looking at the other steps in the wiki for changing the fqdn I see:

The file /opt/scalix/global/config contains the lines:

However I don't have that file after my installation.
/opt/scalix/global/
is an empty directory.
