This looks like you already had a message store in place and you tried an install of Scalix 10.

Did you do an uninstall first ? If so, there was no need, the installer will upgrade quite happily.

Cheers

Ok, here's my first error.

2006-02-15 12:17:06,286 INFO System group 'sxadmin' already exists, OK.

Then I uninstalled.
I saw "The unix login does not exist" & code 100 msg(i don't know what this is) so I created the user account.

Here's my second error

After reading your reply I tried running "reconfigure scalix components" option & got this error.

The license error is something we identified yesterday and only affects those customers who downloaded their license early yesterday. You will have already received a letter explaining what you need to do to get the corrected license.

OK. Can we take this back to first principles ? Sorry but it's going to be a lot of questions.

It looks like your server is misconfigured for it to generate all of those errors.

When you first attempted the install, what did you have in place ? Was there a message store already there ? Were you attempting an upgrade ? If you can detail the exact steps, that would be great.

In /etc/passwd and /etc/group do you have the scalix username and group name ?

Typically, the sxadmin user is created successfully on install of Scalix, it doesn't need to exist already so it looks like you may have attempted another install.

Any information you can give us is going to be of value as, obviously, this isn't the expected installer behaviour.

Cheers

Dave

There was no email store in place. This was a fresh install. I checked /etc/passwd & /etc/group, sxadmin is there.

I just unistalled Version 10 & installed version 9.4.2 with sucsess but...... it's rejecting sxadmin & password at Admin console. I can't win.

Rather than looking over the history, I think it's going to save time to uninstall Scalix, remove the sxadmin entry in /etc/passwd as well as scalix from /etc/passwd and /etc/group. Delete /var/opt/scalix and /opt/scalix if they are still present after the install.

Once that's clean, re-install Scalix 10.

Cheers

Dave
