Installed and rebooted now not working

Postby scandog » Wed Feb 15, 2006 5:54 pm

Hi,

I just installed Scalix on Centos 4.2 using detatiled instructions on installing in Centos.

Everything seemed to be working fine I was able to login to sac.

I rebooted the server a few minutes later and now I can get anything.

I have searched the list and tried a few things.
ps -aef|grep tomcat
results
root 17307 17288 0 15:51 pts/0 00:00:00 grep tomcat

I have tried my just seening if I can get the tomcat screen using http://<server-name>:8080

I still get nothing just page canot be displayed

I installed it on another server earlier and it was working fine as well. Never rebooted that one.

Thanks

This is something that's detailed in the release notes for SWA under Known Issues and Workarounds.
Both email users and administrators should NOT connect to Scalix Web Access using the 8080 or 8443 port number in the URL. This is no longer needed in v10 of Scalix

The SWA URL is now simply server.domain.com/webmail. No port number is needed.

If you still have problems connecting, do not use the port number. First check to make sure that the Apache server is running. Next, verify that the correct Tomcat is running. Scalix 10.0 automatically installs a new Tomcat in /opt/scalix-tomcat and installs a new startup script called scalix-tomcat in /etc/init.d. If you had previously installed the Tomcat startup script from the admin_resource_kit, you should remove or disable it to prevent the old Tomcat from automatically starting. Lastly, if you had previously installed mod_jk and used RewriteRules to redirect http to https for SWA, that rule may also need to be disabled.

Cheers

Dave

I am currently running version 9.4.2 CE of Scalix.

I was running everything just fine on port 8080.

It doesn't seem to work with out the port number either.

Fixed it found some more info on the forum. Turns out tomcat was not running. Started it and set it to autoload on startup .

Works great.

This is an awesome product.

Thanks for the fast response.
