11.4.01u1 Default single server install but no Rules wizard

Postby riiiik » Thu Sep 25, 2008 7:59 am

Hi,

Two problems .. actually three.

I just installed Enterprise edition for a 60day evaluation and am currently trying to understand how to set up forwarding from a scalix mailadress to an external one.

Since no plugins was found after a default install I first tried to simply set up a rule via Webmail tools. But Clicking on rules Wizard menu gives me a NOT FOUND page URL/Scalix/rw not found on this server.

So that was a No Go!

Then I found addfwd.pl plugin at the wiki and installed it on the server as explained.

I now have a plugin visible in the adminconsole, enter email laddress and target email address and hit the RUN - button.

The result window states that user/mailnode already exists and this generates an error??

So clearly I don't have a clue how this plugin is intended to work.

And lastly, I am running this default installed server without a key since the evaluation key sent to me had expired before I requested it (in other words, very short 60 day eval.)

Hope someone can help me.

Regards

Rikard

Seems there's something wrong with your web setup. The SRW should work.

You can also from the command line use sxaa to set up rules, this should work even if the web side doesn't.

Yes I agree,

But one would expect a clean default setup to work ,don't you agree?

Commandline is a good last resort , but I would want to allow trusted clients to handle this on their domains/users in order to minimize our own administration.

addfwd will CREATE a new user, and then enable forwarding for that user.

You should be able to very quickly modify that script so that it doesn't need you to specify an email address, and so that it doesn't run the omaddu.

Then it'll create JUST the forward for a user that already exists, rather than adding a new user, and then setting up forwarding.

OK,

And thanks,

I'll give it a try.

Anyone with an idea about the webmails rules wizard or maybe I have to post a separate question in that forum.

Thanks again

I've asked the person with the other script to please post it today. We work together.

For the Rules Wizard, check to see what errors are in the apache logs.
