It doesn't matter, don't install on OpenSUSE anyway.

Use CentOS, RHEL, or SLES.

Otherwise you'll hurt every time you need to upgrade.

Why? What's the problem with Scalix and openSUSE?

Scalix and OpenSUSE 11 aren't supported... that alone is a good reason not to do it.

There's been complaints about OSS and Fedora here before. In short, since Scalix only supports one release of each per release, you are forced to upgrade regularly, and this has caused issues before for us resellers.

In addition, it's listed as "for evaluation", not "for production".

Not just resellers, end users too.

Basically, you turn a 20 minute upgrade that can easily be done remotely over SSH into a fairly lengthy project, and in return for the headaches, you give up support.

It's a lose - lose proposition.

If cost is the issue, use CentOS.

Otherwise, choose SLES or RHEL.

You WILL eventually regret any other choice, though it will run perfectly.

Kev.
