FC4 INSTALL TOMCAT DOES NOT START WHEN SERVER REBOOTS

Postby FMS » Wed Jan 25, 2006 6:59 pm

Blz.. here I am again:

I finished the installation process with success.

I am using language Portuguese Brasil on my FEDORA CORE 4 BOX.

But TOMCAT did not started when I reboot the system.

My tests:

ps -ef | grep tomcat ==> I did not see tomcat

http://server:8080/webmail/ ==> nopes !

[root@scalix logs]# pwd
/tomcat/jakarta-tomcat-5.0.28/logs
[root@scalix logs]# ls
caa.log catalina.out localhost_log.2006-01-25.txt

I did not found: scalix-swa_log.<date>.txt files.

Any help?

Hi. Did you put the tomcat startup script from the admin_resource_kit into the /etc/init.d subdirectory? Did you modify the script so it includes the proper path to your tomcat installation?

Thanks,
Rachel

I did not see the instruction to do that. Than you for the tip Rachel !!

Ok. It worked now.

Hey.. remember to allow the 8080:tcp port on your FEDORA FIREWALL.
(Desktop/System Settings/Security Level)
or you will not access www.yourserver.com:8080/webmail

One more thing:

How can I TRANSLATE the WEBMAIL to my language? (PT-BR) ?

Thanks again!
