Is swa.platform.enabled=true needed ?

Postby declanmullen » Sat May 24, 2008 1:56 am

In the file "swa.properties" does "swa.platform.enabled" have to be set to "true" for "swa.platform.url" to be used ?

I'm following http://www.scalix.com/wiki/index.php?title=Manual_Installation_Debian_Etch which says to set "swa.platform.url" but it doesn't say to set "swa.platform.enabled" to "true". Is that a issue ?

I'm trying to install scalix for the first time. I'm installing all of scalix 11.4 on one server (Debian Etch). It will be a low volume server just for my family.

yes, it needs to be set to true for SWA to use the platform cache and provide advanced search functionality.

Search options in SWA

Postby MDAFederal » Thu Jul 03, 2008 6:22 am

We have a split system with our main server internal and SWA server in the DMZ. I cannot get the Search functionality to work directly on that box. Valerion in another post of mine, responded back with additional help on how to get the Reverse Proxy in Apache to bounce it off the internal server. This has allowed me to use the advanced search features in SWA without too many problems. The big problem that I am facing now, however, is since I have changed the swa.platform.enabled to True from False, end users who liked the very basic, watered down search feature now can no longer manipulate messages the way they used to.

Bottom Line:

1) Is there a way to get the SWA box in the DMZ to utilize the search API without using the Reverse Proxy in Apache to point it to the internal server.
2) Is there any plans to link the Advanced Search GUI to the Webmail GUI so that users could manipulate messages better (move to another location, delete, etc...) similar to the "dumbed down" version when swa.platform.enabled=false ?

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.
