Internal LDAP replaceable with existing directory?

Postby kottlett » Fri Feb 08, 2008 12:34 pm

Hi Scalix community,

is it possible to substitute Scalix' own LDAP implementation by connecting it to an already existing directory server? I found a how-to which allows for users to authenticate against a different LDAP server (I got this part working), however, it is still required to add all account data (incl. e.g. name, mail address, ...) to Scalix, too.

Is it possible to connect Scalix to an existing LDAP server, in a way that all user data, group data and membership data is taken from the existing LDAP? For example by adding Scalix specific LDAP schemata?

Thanks!
Kevin

You want to replace the internal Scalix LDAP information? This is not truly stored as LDAP, it is a view into the internal SYSTEM directory. As such, you can't really replace it, as the server needs the internal directory to function correctly.
