How to change the default domain listed for a user in SAC?..

Postby spheretechinc » Tue Dec 14, 2004 7:45 pm

I setup a couple domains during the installation of Scalix and the SAC. Now, I want to change the default domain that is listed for the users. Is there a way I can do that for all users at once? If not, is there a way to change it for any new users? For instance we have scalix.domain.ext as the default domain listed (and is also the reply to address) and we also have domain.ext as well. I want to eliminate the scalix.domain.ext and only have domain.ext or change it so domain.ext is the default. Where can I change that setting without reinstalling Scalix and the SAC?

Thanks!

The domains are held in the configuration file /etc/opt/scalix/caa/scalix.res/config/ubermanager.properties.

The property ubermanager.console.localDomains needs to be a comma-separated list of domains which are presented in the list. If this property is left blank, the administrator is able to enter any domain.

The tomcat server needs to be restarted for any changes to be picked up.

Even if I didn't install the RES? This is a stand alone (single) server configuration.

Thanks!

Yes. This configuration file is present regardless of whether you installed RES or not.

It's part of the scalix-sac RPM.

I spoke too soon :-)

When I made this change it did change the order in the drop down box. But, when I add a new user it gives them the other domain as the mail address. How do I change this?

When you add a Scalix mailbox through the Admin Console, you need to specify a mailbox location. This is referred to as a mailnode on the server and is added via the omaddmn command. Typically, you will only have 1 mailnode when you first install the server.

The omaddmn command takes a -D parameter which refers to the domain that will be used to autogenerate the internet addresses when you add a user.
When you installed Scalix, you will have been prompted for a primary mailnode and an internet domain name. This information is supplied to omaddmn in the background.

When you go through the steps to create a new user through the Admin Console, you aren't prompted for the internet domain for the initial address. This is because that information is held in the mailnode.

Once you have added your users, you can go to the list of users and select the domain you want for the internet address.

If you want to make this the default on the mailnode, you can run the command:

ommodmn -m mailnode -D newdomain.com

cheers
