Scalix sending to exchange, but not receiving from exchange

Postby mattsosa » Wed May 09, 2007 10:10 am

I am new to scalix and trying to get my organization to try it out. The agreed to let me set up a scalix server for all users that only need internal communications. Exchange 2003 holds all outbound communications.

I have set up scalix v11.0.4 on Suse 10 ent. ed. It works great and I can send to my exchange server with no problem, but If I reply from the exchange server it does not reach the scalix server.

This is on a windows domain. I have added forwarding routs, MX records and DNS records for the scalix server as well as a C(alias) record. I am lost as to what I am missing to make this work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just a couple of things to check. There may be others:

1) You may have to reply to user@scalixserver.domain.com from the exchange server

2) The exchange server may have to be set *NOT* to suck in all emails to anyuser@anything.domain.com

3) the scalix server may require an entry in the /etc/mail/local-host-names of the form:
scalixserver.domain.com

I hope you get it by now.
Jaime
